Cheavon Clarke

   Cheavon Clarke is a Jamaican born British Professional Boxer. He moved to the UK at the age of 11. He discovered his talent for boxing whilst trying to get fir for football. After his first few sessions his coach said he would be a world champion one day; the journey started. 

   Chev started to dominate the UK boxing scene in 2010 by winning contests all around the country and earning national trials in 2011. Since things did not go as planned, he decided to represent Jamaica at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, where he was a member of the same squad as Usain Bolt. Sadly, this was the first time he had suffered a loss of this magnitude.

   He took two years off to work as a truck driver, where he discovered the true worth of labour and money. After his exhausting night duties, he continued training in secrecy until his friends convinced him to go back to competing.   

   As soon as he started boxing again, Chev was more determined than ever to succeed in the sport. After national success and team trials, he was accepted into the GB Boxing programme, where he won bronze at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and silver at the 2017 European Championships. This was followed by a string of medals that helped him advance to the last 16 of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

   Chev signed a long-term promotional contract with Matchroom Boxing in January 2022, and he made his professional debut at the London O2 Arena a few weeks later. Chev defeated Toni Visic with two devastating knockdowns, the second of which sealed the victory because the Croatian was unable to make the other one count.
